Appointment Policy

Our fully digitized scheduling system is designed to give you the appointment times that work best for you and your family. Because our office is completely paperless, we are able to provide our patients higher quality care while maintaining the luxury of running on time.

We value your time and understand you and your family are busy, so we pledge to always have after school/work appointments available for your routine appointments. Longer appointments are scheduled during weekday mornings to ensure the success of your treatment. These appointments usually include the day the braces are put on and taken off your teeth. By reserving these longer comfort and emergency appointments during the mornings, we are able to serve more patients, who are visiting for their regular six to eight week appointments, during the afternoon and evening hours. If you would rather have your routine appointments during a quieter time, please let us know and we can schedule your appointment during our morning hours.

Late Arrivals

Parents and patients are responsible for remembering their appointments and arriving on time. Arriving late to an appointment can pose a problem, and may require us to reschedule your appointment for another day.


We require a 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Please note that if notice isn’t given, we will be unable to offer you the popular appointment times in the future.

Emergency Visits

If a bracket or band becomes loose, please call our office. Depending on the urgency of the problem and when your regular routine appointment is scheduled, we may need to schedule another appointment to correct the problem.

We have created these scheduling policies to ensure the overall success of your orthodontic treatment. Working together, we can build a true partnership with one common goal – to achieve and maintain a beautiful, healthy smile.

We are excited to announce new e-mail and website services for our patients. We have begun sending appointment reminders via e-mail. If you would like to receive reminders by e-mail when you have an appointment coming up, if you miss an appointment, and when it’s time to schedule your next appointment then please let us know. All we need is your e-mail address!
If you are interested in receiving text message reminders to wear your rubber bands, retainers or aligners, please ask a member of our team at your next visit! We utilize orthodontext for these helpful reminders to keep patients orthodontic treatment on track. 

We are also adding access to your appointment and account information on our website at www.sheffieldortho.com. You will be able to visit our website 24 hours a day, seven days a week to find out when your future appointments are scheduled, review your past appointment history, check your account balance, view your most recent payment information, print a statement of your account, pay your bill online, sign up to receive text message appointment reminders by cell phone and see digital images from your treatment.*

To access your appointment and account information from www.sheffieldortho.com, you will need a user ID and password. If you would like a user ID and password, please let our staff know. All we need is your e-mail address! Once you have given us your email address, we will email you a user ID and password for the website on the following Sunday.

Once you receive your user ID and password, visit our website at www.sheffieldortho.com and click on Patient Login. Then enter your user ID and password to view your appointment and account information. Once you have logged in, you may change your user ID or password by clicking the Preferences button on the bottom, left-hand side of the screen.
