Sharing Smiles Orthodontic Scholarship

Who We Are

From 2011 through 2019, Dr Rob Sheffield has provided orthodontic scholarships under the umbrella national entity of Smile for a Lifetime Foundation. The national organization has distinguished itself by being a non-profit, charitable organization that has helped provide orthodontic treatment for underserved individuals since 2008.
Dr. Rob established his own chapter of Smile for a Lifetime in 2011. Since its inception, more than 85 children in our community have been awarded orthodontic scholarships valued at more than $500,000, at absolutely no cost to the patient or family. Our chapter has enlisted community leaders as its advisory board to award scholarships to children in our local schools and community. Our advisory board specifically seeks individuals who are in special situations, are struggling financially and who would not otherwise be able to afford orthodontic treatment that could dramatically change their lives.

Our Mission

We strive to create self-confidence, inspire hope and change the lives of children in our community in a dramatic way. The gift of a smile can do all this for a deserving underserved individual who can use this gift to "help pay it forward" and better themselves and give back to our community.

What We Do

An application can be downloaded from our website. Completed applications should be returned to our office. Twelve students are chosen every year: six each in two application drives that end March 30 and September 30. Our advisory board is responsible for reviewing each complete application and choosing award recipients.

The scholarship recipients receive a lifetime gift of their best smile, and are encouraged to pay this gift forward, using their talents and time to help those around them, and the community we live in. The application process is competitive.
